Knutsford is our main school where we have over 30 classes a week to choose from. Dance styles include Freestyle Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Acrobatic Dance, Commercial Dance, Contemporary, Street Dance, Progressing Ballet Technique, Stretch, Technique & Body Conditioning. Dance camps are run during the school holidays. Holiday programmes are a great way for students to experience new dance styles. Here we have 3 exam sessions a year that students from all venues are invited to take part. Private lesson sessions are also available at this venue. Please contact us for dance party enquiries. Our Junior Acrobatic dance class focuses on learning basic gymnastic skills and linking them with dance steps.
Our Acrobatic Dance class builds on basic technique with children learning more complex gymnastic skills and dance steps. This class focuses on building flexibility and strength through a series of routines and developing confidence in executing the gymnastic skills. Children will have the opportunity to participate in grade examinations and medal tests.
Our intermediate freestyle jazz class will learn to perform and execute routines to a higher standard whilst using freedom of expression to enhance their style.
Our Stretch & Strength class is aimed at students already enrolled in a dance class. It is perfect for any dancer wanting to build core strength & flexibility.
Our Senior Jazz/Commercial Heels class allows students to develop a more in depth knowledge of performing. Students will build strength, flexibility, style, confidence and enhanced jazz technique. Our senior class works on varied styles including Commercial Heels & Musical Theatre with some routines showing very physical and high energy movements to slow and expressive. We aim to train our students to be versatile dancers. All of our students will have the opportunity to take part in exams and perform in the annual SMB Dance show.

Children will have the opportunity to perform in our annual dance show.

Our Baby ballet class is a fantastic introduction to the wonderful work of ballet, suitable for ages 2 – 4 yrs. The emphasis is on having fun and exploring movement, developing motor skills, musicality and self confidence. Children will be introduced to some of the core steps in ballet whilst incorporating props and exciting music!

In our rosette ballet & tap classes the overall emphasis is having fun. Children will learn simple movements and steps from the idta syllabus and work towards their first exam. Emphasis is placed on coordination, musicality, self confidence and following direction. All of our students will have the opportunity to take part in the SMB Dance show at the end of the year.
Join by annual audition only. Our team works intensively on a weekly basis to create performance routines for performance at local events, competitions and festivals. Some of the competitions we compete at have solo, duet and team sections allowing our dancers to become all round performers.
A perfect place to start to develop your contemporary dance technique through a series of engaging technique exercises, corner travelling work and creative tasks to develop confidence, coordination, flexibility and use of correct posture and alignment.
At this level ballet technique is developed at the barre and in the centre focusing on strength, stamina, flexibility and coordination as well as developing expression through advanced use of ports de bras. Students have the opportunity to take grade examinations and medal tests which allowed technique to be developed through cultural dance; the tarantella.
This class is by invitation only. Students are invited to join once we feel they have the necessary requirements to begin pointe work. In this class students develop strength and technique at the barre before moving into the centre to learn more complex movements. Our fully qualified teachers understand that all students develop at different rates and have the knowledge and understanding as to how students progress within their pointe work.
Our children’s classes follow the IDTA Tap examination syllabus, with students developing their understanding of rhythms and timing through tap movements, clapping and beating. Tap also develops coordination, fluidity and strength.
At this level children begin barre work and continue to develop their ballet technique through a series of engaging barre and centre exercises. Students have the opportunity to take the grade examination and medal tests.
